Italian Space Agency

logo-asiThe Italian Space Agency (ASI) is an italian government institution founded in 1988 to promote, coordinate and conduct space activities on the national territory. Operating under the control of the Ministry of Universities and Scientific and Technological Research, the Agency cooperates with many international and Italian entities which are active in the space sector, collaborating also with the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministries. ASI’s main headquarters are located in Rome, Italy. Two more sites of the Agency, two operational centers, are located in the south of Italy (Matera, “Centro di Geodesia Spaziale”), mainly devoted to earth observation activities, and in Kenya (Malindi, “Centro Spaziale Luigi Broglio”), devoted to TT&C activities. In particular, Italy devotes special attention to earth observation programs. ASI is carried out the implementation of a sophisticated dual-use (civilian/military) Earth observation satellite system, COSMO-SkyMed, dedicated to natural disasters prevention and safety

Spanish Navy

logo-spanish-navyThe Royal Spanish Navy (Spanish: Real Armada Española), abbreviated as Armada, is the maritime branch of the Spanish Armed Forces and one of the oldest active naval forces in the world. The Spanish navy was responsible for a number of major historic achievements in navigation, the most famous being the voyages of Christopher Columbus and the first global circumnavigation by Magellan and Elcano. The Spanish Navy is willing to cooperate to the SCOUT Project in the followning activities: a) Definition of the end-user needs; b) Definition of operating scenarios; c) Assesment of the Project results from an operative point of view. For that, the experience in critical infrastructure protection is going to be applied. The Spanish Army is responsable, among others, of the operation and maintenance of the ground segment of the Satellite communication center sited in Bermeja, Madrid.

Italian Navy

logo-marina-militareThe Italian Navy (Italian: Marina Militare; MM) is the maritime defence force of the Italian Republic. It is one of the four branches of Italian Armed Forces and was formed in 1946 from what remained of the Regia Marina (Royal Navy) after World War II. The participation of the Italian Navy in Scout Project will be carried out by the Naval Telecommunication and Electronic Institute (CSSN-ITE), in the end-user advisory board, as well as in the Project demonstration.
